Berkeley Language Institute
Berkeley Language Institute offers translation and interpreting courses to bilingual speakers in the community interested in a new career and to translators and interpreters who wish to enhance their skills. Berkeley Language Institute offers classes accredited by the Judicial Council of San Francisco. The institute provides language assessment for individuals and bilingual staff of organizations, including attorneys' and doctors' offices, hospitals, social service centers, schools, police departments and many other private and government organizations.

CCHI - Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters
"CCHI is the answer to requests in the healthcare field for 'one voice, one set of industry-formed and approved standards, and an assurance of competency through an accredited, professional certification program' for healthcare interpreters." 

The Center for the Art of Translation promotes international literature and translation through the arts, education, and community outreach. The Center is the parent organization of TWO LINES and Poetry Inside Out.

Globalization and Localization Association (GALA)
GALA is an international non-profit association that promotes translation services, language technology and language management solutions. The member companies worldwide include translation agencies, localization service providers, globalization consultants and technology developers. The National Center for Interpretation Testing Research and Policy at The University of Arizona was established to meet the needs of a state and nation experiencing dramatic growth in the number of limited- and non-English speaking minorities requiring language-mediated services. Because these numbers will continue to increase well into the next century, intercultural/interlingual communication is one of the newest and most critical areas of scholarly interest and public service opportunities for institutions of higher education.

AAE-ESIT (Association des Anciens Elèves de l'Ecole Supérieure d'Interprètes et de Traducteurs, Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III)
The Alumni Association of the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation (Sorbonne, Paris) maintains a web-based monthly in French entitled Point Com at this site, including contributions from the alumni and faculty of the school and covering a variety of topics of interest to professional translators and interpreters.
