Workshop, January 27, 2018: Translating Children’s & Young Adult Literature: A Hands-on Workshop

NCTA is very excited to offer a workshop on translating children's and young adult literature by experienced translator Aïda Garcia Pons. Aïda has translated over 40 books and is passionate about her work. If you are curious and would like to learn more about the translation world of children and young adult literature, this is the workshop for you. 

Please join us on Saturday, January 27 in San Francisco, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The workshop will feature: 

- A look at common problems encountered when translating YA and how they are solved;

- How to deal with the evolution of language used by teens, abundance of made-up words, poems, riddles, and songs;

- Translate English originals and receive feedback from the instructor;

- How to get your foot into literary translation specifically into the world of children’s and YA books.
