Designed to help you prepare for success on the ATA certification exam (the next ATA certification exam in Northern California will be offered in San Francisco in September), part one of this workshop is a language-neutral guide to the exam that is useful to all examinees regardless of language combination, while part two is specifically focused on the Spanish>English and English>Spanish combinations.

PART 1 provides a 90-minute overview of the exam, with many tips on how to prepare for it and how to maximize your potential on exam day. Translators working in any language combination should benefit from this part.

Note: There will be a PART 2 from 2:45-4:30 p.m. for Spanish translators only. Click here to register.

Sean Dodd is ATA-certified in Spanish-to-English translation and holds a BA in Spanish and a certificate in court interpreting, among other credentials. In 2012, he earned ATA certification on his first exam sitting. Russian was his first foreign language and he is an honors graduate of the Defense Language Institute, having served in the Cold War. Since going freelance in 2014, Sean now divides his time between his native Bay Area and his second home in southern Spain. //

ATA Continuing Education Credit: ATA-certified members will earn three Continuing Education points.

Early payment is advised in order to secure participation and help reach the workshop minimum participation. Unfortunately, workshops may occasionally have to be cancelled or rescheduled if the confirmed participation in advance is very low. NCTA will not be responsible for any consequential losses to participants arising from this.

Cancellation policy: Refunds are issued only if notice of cancellation is received one week prior to the applicable workshop date. A cancellation fee of $10 is charged for all cancellations.

Space is limited. Register now to reserve your space.
