Guest speaker: Joseph McClinton (bio here)

The opera La Circe by Pietro Andrea Ziani was premiered in Vienna in 1665 for the birthday of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I. Despite the beauty of the music, La Circe fell into oblivion and has never been performed since. San Francisco’s own Ars Minerva is bringing this lost work back to life with the help of the translation and subtitles undertaken by Joseph McClinton. Come hear Mr. McClinton speak about this exciting work! The opera will be performed only twice—on September 8 and 9 in San Francisco’s Mission District. For tickets and complete information, please visit www.arsminerva.org.

 3:15 p.m.: Networking

Refreshments will be served at the end of the meeting, and there will be an opportunity for networking.
