Val Swisher, founder and CEO of Content Rules Inc., joined the Translators Without Borders Board of Directors in June 2012. As an executive board member, Val oversees the relationship between Translators Without Borders and its non-profit (NGO) partners.
Content Rules has been providing simplified English services for Translators Without Borders, free of charge, for almost two years. We have worked on many projects, including the 80 x 80 Wikipedia project, the "Health, Education, and Training for Africa” project, the Kenya Health Brochure project, among others. Our editors work nights and weekends, making the English content simpler and easier to read for people all over the world. Their edited content also goes to the TWB Translation Centre, where it is translated into many languages by an equally amazing team of volunteer translators.
Join Val as we look at the life-saving work being done by TWB and how you can help us save the world.
Val Swisher founded Content Rules recognizing that even the largest companies often do not have the technology, people, and expertise to create content that is global ready. Founded in 1994, under her leadership the company has grown to encompass 12 full-time employees, 200+ customers, and an extensive network of contractors. Val is a frequent speaker on how to create, standardize, and get your content ready for the demands of the global market place. Before starting Content Rules, Val held management positions in technical documentation and training at SynOptics and 3Com.
3:15 p.m.: Networking
