ATA Continuing Education Credit: Earn up to 4 Continuing Education Points.

OBJECTIVES

• Learn more Trados tricks and get answers to your specific Trados questions.

• Share Trados insights and experiences with your fellow translators.

MultiTerm Extract demonstration -- learn how to use this additional Trados tool to create MultiTerm term lists or glossaries by extracting terms and their translations from files and translation memories. (Note that this program is not part of the standard Trados package but is sold separately.)

• Learn what to do with all those Microsoft glossaries -- about 300,000 translation units begging to be part of your memory!

As a conclusion of our 7-part Trados workshop series, this wrap-up session is meant for all previous Trados workshop participants and others who would like to have an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with other Trados users, and learn some additional tips to make their Trados work more efficient.

If you have Trados-related questions that you would like to get answered or tips that you would like to share with others, you can send them in advance to vicepresident@ncta.org. We will use your input to shape the workshop.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

• This workshop is suitable for everyone who has used Trados Workbench in their work.

WHAT IS REQUIRED?

• Familiarity with basic Trados commands and functions.

We encourage you to bring your laptop computer (with Trados and other pertinent software already installed) so that you can try new tips right away. However, you will likely find this workshop very useful even if you come without a computer.

If your Trados version is 5 or older you might want to download the most current Trados 6.5 trial version from www.translationzone.com/download.asp?menuItem=12 (TRADOS 6.5 Trial Version, 112 MB).
